What IS a Fix a Test, anyways?

Fix a Test clinics are an opportunity for riders to school their chosen test and then receive feedback and a short training session from the judge. The goal is to identify areas that could be improved in each test. Then, at the end of each session the rider will ride their test again and receive a score sheet.

From Lisa:
"From the time I was young, riding has been a constant in my life. I learned to ride while growing up in Germany, where a strong emphasis was placed on a correct seat and allowing your horse to balance and perform under you in all gaits and at all movements, as well as knowledge in the theory of riding, teaching and training. I am USDF Certified through 4th level and also have my USDF Bronze and Silver medals.

I have trained several horses from green to the FEI, including my own horse, Wotan van Nymphenburg aka “Nemo”. Nemo has shown successfully through Intermediare-1, with scores into the 70s, multiple wins and high point championships, coming in 7th at GAIG Region 1 Championships and 15th in the Nation at Finals at PSG in 2021, and Reserve Champion at GAIG Region 2 Regionals at I-1 and 12th in National Finals in 2022. Many other training horses of various breeds have won Year End Awards, Breed Awards and High Point Championships.

I am a USDF “L” program graduate and would eventually like to become USDF FEI Certified and become a faculty member to help other instructors become certified.

While there are many different riding and teaching styles, I adhere to the German Classical approach. I use the training pyramid to systematically train both horses and riders through the levels. I strongly believe in the well-being of my horses, and that both the rider, as well as the horse, should benefit and have fun in this sport!"
